Lazare de Schwendi, the man of the statue, was an Austrian military man who served Emperor Maximilian II as a colonel of all German troops and who was sent to Hungary to fight the Turks. Later, in 1565 he invaded the fortress of Tokaj, taking with him several barrels of wine as well as strains of these vines that were later replanted in Alsace.
All over the city, the colorful houses with a wooden structure in the Colombage style, like a migraine, give life to the scenery, which reminds us of the movie Beauty and the Beast. In fact, it was this city that inspired Disney! Bela lived in a picturesque French village in a little house like this. Who remembers?

The bear is the symbol of the city of Bern, appearing on the coat of arms of its flag, because according to legend this was the first animal hunted there by the Duke of Zahringen. The shopping streets of downtown Bern have some buildings with arcades, which extend for 6 km, so if it rains, the visitor can still see all the shops, cafes and restaurants without having to open the umbrella.
One of the characteristics of the historic centre, also known as Altsdadt, are the coloured fountains with Renaissance-style statues in the centre of the streets, almost all from the 16th century.
Thun is a very small town in central Switzerland, on the banks of the River Aar and Lake Thun. It is possible to travel by boat from Interlaken, but due to the lack of time to enjoy the route, I chose to go by train, which left me right in the city centre.
Kleine Sheidegg is a ski resort with about 100 km of slopes, at 2061 m altitude. Here the Downhill World Championship starts every year, which descends to Wengen at a distance of 4.2 km.
It wouldn't be a real trip to Switzerland in winter if it didn't have at least a little snow experience!
