Perto do museu fica a Maison des Tetes, casa das Cabeças, um edifício de estilo renascentista mandado construir em 1609 por um comerciante local, que se realça dos restantes pelas várias cabeças esculpidas na sua fachada. Esta casa já funcionou como bolsa de valores e é actualmente um hotel de luxo.

Near the museum is the Maison des Tetes, house of the Heads, a Renaissance-style building that was built in 1609 by a local merchant, who stands out from the rest by the various heads carved on its facade. This house once functioned as a stock exchange and is now a luxury hotel.

Mesmo em frente fica o museu mais fofo da cidade, o musée Hansi, que para minha desgraça estava fechado! Nem a loja estava aberta! Estava tudo fechado para férias por apenas 15 dias, imaginem o meu azar!

Right across the street is the cutest museum in town, the musée Hansi, which to my disgrace was closed! Nor was the store open! Everything was closed for holidays for only 15 days, imagine my bad luck!

Este museu é dedicado a um artista ilustrador desta região, Jaques Waltz, que em seus belos desenhos retrata diversos símbolos da Alsácia e algumas das suas tradições. Dizem que o museu é muito bonito. Eu, olhando pela montra apercebi-me que na loja do museu teria lembranças incríveis para comprar para mim e para a minha família. Foi uma pena!

This museum is dedicated to an artist illustrator of this region, Jaques Waltz, who in his beautiful drawings portrays several symbols of Alsace and some of its traditions. They say that the museum is very beautiful. I, looking through the window I realized that in the museum shop I would have incredible memories to buy for myself and my family. It was a shame!

No caminho passei ainda por uma propriedade bem amorosa, o espace des Marchands, uma autêntica casinha de bonecas.

On the way I passed by a very loving property, Espaço des Marchands, a real dollhouse.

A Catedral de Saint-Martin foi construída entre 1235 e 1365 e é um grande exemplo da arquitectura gótica da região. Os seus telhados são também em cerâmica colorida e uma das suas torres já foi restaurada depois do incêndio que sofreu em 1572.

Saint-Martin Cathedral was built between 1235 and 1365 and is a great example of the region’s Gothic architecture. Its roofs are also made of coloured ceramic and one of its towers has already been restored after the fire it suffered in 1572.

Mais à frente, a Maison Pfister é uma palacete em estilo renascentista construído em 1537 por Ludwig Scherer. É um dos símbolos de Colmar, sendo considerada como um monumento francês. A casa foi construída em pedra e madeira, e as suas fachadas pintadas representam passagens bíblicas e os imperadores germânicos do século XVI.

Further on, the Maison Pfister is a Renaissance-style palace built in 1537 by Ludwig Scherer. It is one of the symbols of Colmar, being considered as a French monument. The house was built in stone and wood and its painted facades represent biblical passages and the Germanic emperors of the sixteenth century.

Em frente fica o museu Bartholdi, a casa onde o famoso criador da estátua da Liberdade de Nova Iorque, o escultor Frédéric Bartholdi nasceu. Aqui se expoem várias obras de sua autoria e é tal a sua importância para esta cidade, que se pode encontrar por toda a cidade pequenos triângulos com o símbolo da estátua da Liberdade, que indicam aos visitantes o melhor roteiro turístico pela cidade. Portanto, se for sem nada programado, fique a saber que o piso da cidade lhe indica o caminho, como se de uma estrela guia se tratasse.

In front is the Bartholdi Museum, the house where the famous creator of the New York Statue of Liberty, sculptor Frédéric Bartholdi was born. Here several works of his authorship are exhibited and it is so important for this city that one can find throughout the city small triangles with the symbol of the Statue of Liberty, which indicate to visitors the best touristic route through the city. Therefore, if you have nothing programmed, know that the floor of the city shows you the way, as if it was a guiding star.
